Somewhere along the way, a lot of us got the message that taking care of ourselves was one step from selfish — like it was in competition with loving God. I want to gently push back on that.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
God's plans for you were never just about what you'd produce for everyone else. They included your hope. Your wellbeing. Caring for what He made — including you — isn't vanity. It's stewardship.
