Can I be honest with you for a second?
There's a kind of tired that comes from waiting on something — a prayer that hasn't landed yet, a season that won't budge, a "not yet" from God when you were hoping for a "yes." It doesn't feel productive. It doesn't feel like faith, most days. It just feels like standing still while everyone else seems to be moving.
"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10
Not "be busy and prove your faith." Not "hustle until the answer shows up." Just — be still. Know.
Here's what I've learned the hard way: stillness isn't the absence of God working. It's usually the exact place He's working the hardest — just quietly, underneath what we can see. Roots grow in the dark before anything breaks the surface. Grace unfolds slow, not because it's stuck, but because it's real.
So if you're in a waiting season today, friend, I'm not going to tell you to hustle harder or manifest louder. I'm going to tell you what I remind myself: your stillness isn't wasted. It's not failure. It might be the most faithful thing you do this week.
Sit with that a minute. Let it be enough for today.
If this is where you're at, my devotional card set Grace Unfolding was made for exactly this season — quiet, honest, no performance, just truth to hold onto. And if you need a gentler daily rhythm of scripture and reflection, Still, Small Voice walks with you one page at a time.
