You Don't Have to Have It All Figured Out Today

Good morning, friend. I want to say something to you before your day gets loud: you do not have to have it all figured out today.

I know the pressure. The to-do list that never actually ends. The decision you've been sitting on for weeks. The version of your life you think you're supposed to have by now. It's a lot to carry before you've even had your coffee.

Here's what I keep coming back to: God didn't ask Abraham to see the whole map. He just asked him to take the next step. That's it. Not the five-year plan. Not the perfectly worded prayer. Just the next faithful step, in front of the one you're standing on right now.

Proverbs reminds us to trust the Lord with our whole heart and lean not on our own understanding — and I think the hard, freeing part of that verse is admitting we were never supposed to understand it all. That was never the job. The job is trust. One day, one decision, one small act of faith at a time.

So today, if you're feeling behind, if the plan isn't clear, if you're staring down a decision with no neon sign pointing the way — you're not failing. You're just human, walking with a God who already sees the whole road even when you can only see the next few feet of it.

Take the next step. That's enough for today.

If mornings like this are when your heart is most open to hearing from God, my ebook Still, Small Voice was written for exactly this — learning to recognize His voice in the everyday noise. And if you're craving a steady, daily rhythm in the Word, Grace Unfolding walks you through Scripture one gentle day at a time.
